REVIEW: Montecristo Churchill

The Montecristo Churchill is a give and take cigar.

It starts off with heavy pepper on the tongue, then mellows into a rich spice which reaches all the way to the back of your throat. An ample amount of gray-white smoke lends to an aesthetically pleasing start. It has a fine ash hold.

There are, however, some construction issues which make for a less than perfect smoke. A tight draw and uneven burn cut the experience short, while the somewhat ‘loose’ construction creates a tendency for the wrapper to unravel.

In the end, this is a good choice for a knock-around stick, but I would not expect much more than that. Contrary to some other golden reviews, this is not a ‘top-shelf’ selection but, rather, a solid mid-range offering.
