Cigar enthusiasts rejoice: you will soon be enjoying (legal) Cuban smokes!
The United States has announced sweeping changes to the long-standing embargo against Cuba. In the coming months, officials say the times, they’ll be a-changin’:
- embassies in Havana and Washington, D.C.
- Americans allowed to send more money to Cuba for relatives and business development
- U.S. tourists will be allowed to return with some Cuban products, including cigars
- and more!
More important than cigars, however, is the idea that the Cuban people may be one step closer to tasting true freedom.
I hope the U.S. Congress will not only vote to fully normalize relations with Cuba, but also to begin a meaningful and productive relationship with the Cuban government that will ultimately return basic human rights and dignity to the Cuban people.
