A (Small) Victory for Smokers

In an age where tobacco is being attacked at seemingly every turn, it’s nice to know that not every anti-smoking psychotic can get his way.

Lawmakers in Port Orange, Florida were forced to remove ‘No Smoking’ signs peppered throughout the city, after a citizen cited state law that expressly prohibits towns from enacting anti-smoking measures in public parks. Now, city leaders say they will work to “highly discourage” people from exercising their still legal right to smoke.

As a cigar lover, I find it downright offensive that tobacco is being demonized while other substances are being applauded. This reckless display of power abuse is disgusting. I sincerely hope residents will keep in mind this heinous disregard for state law, and vote these criminal politicians out of office.
