Small Victory

As the War on Tobacco rages on, at least one battle has been won for tobacco enthusiasts.

We told you about sweeping changes from the FDA that threaten to put many tobacconists out of work. Now, a federal judge has ruled that a tobacco product label change does not necessarily mean the product itself is new.

The lawsuit filed on behalf of the nation’s three largest tobacco companies argued the proposed label requirements violated the First Amendment protections of commercial free speech.
