This box-press cigar experience begins with aesthetics, including a thick and rugged vein, pig-tail foot, and closed head. The head can be cut, or simply lit. I chose to light it without cutting the head and had no burn issues.
Construction on the 450 “Sparkplug” is smooth and solid, however there were some unraveling issues that cropped up mid-smoke. The ash hold is sufficient.
Notes of dark chocolate, leather, and molasses are present throughout, as well as a strong black pepper spice that makes itself known from the first puff. The overall blend of tastes is reminiscent of chocolate crème pie.
