The guess-work of lighting up in New Hampshire may soon be a thing of the past. Lawmakers are considering a bill that would ease smoking rules statewide.
Currently, it is illegal to smoke in New Hampshire bars and restaurants. The proposed measure would allow local business owners to decide if their patrons are allowed to smoke inside, including privately-operated grocery stores and transportation such as taxis, buses, and boats.
The proposal now moves to a subcommittee hearing. It’s unclear if and when it could be put to a vote.
